Turnstiles is the sixth studio album by American singer-songwriter Billy Joel, released on September 19, 1976. The album was a departure from the more piano-oriented sound of Joel’s previous albums, and featured a more diverse range of instruments, including drums, bass, guitars, and horns. The album’s title refers to the turnstiles at New York City’s subway stations, and the album explores themes of nostalgia, loss, and change.
